Frederick Or as he was called Fred died on the 2nd May 1990, aged 70. Fred was retired but he worked
for the Kentish Times newspaper as a driver for many years. He served in the territorial army until
he was called up to serve during the war. Fred was a gunner in the Sherwood Forresters in the rank
of sergeant. Fred was born and grew up in Sidcup,He was an only child of Arthur and Grace. He was
married to Janet for 48 years, and he has three children Jan, Ron (who lives in Canada )and
Yvonne.He has 6 grandchildren (Stuart his 2nd Grandson is now with him) and 7 greatgrandchildren
none who were born while he was alive. He liked to have a little bet on the horses now and again,
he did the football pools,( he surported West Ham) i remember every Saturday he would listen to the
results but he never won, he also liked to watch the wrestling that used to be on every Saturday
afternoon. Fred became ill while he was on holiday, he was taken from the aeroplane to Hospital,
then transfered to a local hospital where he died with his wife by his side. Fred was a very quite
man a bit of a loner you could say, but he was a very special man he was my Dad !!
